Vigil Games was an American game development company, a subsidiary of THQ. It was founded in 2005 as an independent studio, which became a part of the THQ family in 2006. THQ wanted to find a suitable buyer for the properties of Vigil as the company was unprofitable.
When it went bankrupt, it was developing Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium. After that, the Vigil workers got to Crytek USA and Retro Studios. The most famous games developed by Vigil are the Darksiders series. It is a third-person action-adventure video game that is inspired by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The player performs as the horseman War. According to the plot, the world is divided into separate locations with many areas. The aim is to get through each of them to complete various tasks. It was released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
