THQ Nordic is an Austrian-based holding and video game publishing company.
History
In April 2013, Nordic Games acquired the rights for multiple franchises from THQ that recently went bankrupt. Three years later, the company was renamed to THQ Nordic to gain more acknowledgment on the video game market.
In February 2018, THQ Nordic acquired Koch Media. This deal made THQ Nordic the owner of Deep Silver with all of its subsidiaries and titles.
Operations
Most of THQ Nordic operations revolve around the titles previously owned by THQ. It's publishing efforts began in 2015 with the first title to be released becoming the so-called Deathinitive Edition of Darksiders II.
Since then, the company was interested in smaller developer teams, such as the developers of This is the Police, Weappy Studio and Bugbear Entertainment, the people behind FlatOut.
Up to this day, the major focus of THQ Nordic is the remasters of THQ's acquisitions as well as new games in THQ-owned franchises.
