Team 17 is a British-based video game developer and publisher.
History
Originally founded in 1987, the company was known as 17-bit Software and published games of Public Domain for Amiga.
In 1990, 17-bit Software began developing its own titles and was renamed to Team17. Their first game was Full Contact for Amiga. The company's employees wanted to develop their own games instead of porting the creations of other developers for Atari ST.
In 1995, Team17 signed a contract with Ocean Software for the publishing of Team17's games. Since then, the company focuses only on video game development efforts.
Operations
Team17's titles are often called the video game classics. One of its first own games, Worms, sought critical and commercial success bringing the company into the light. Although there is no focus on the direction of the games developed, Team17 prefers to develop titles for personal computers.
The most notable titles by Team17 are the Worms series, Leisure Suit Larry series, and The Escapists.
