Sony Interactive Entertainment is Sony's video game division.
History
SIE was created on April 1st, 2016 with the merging of SCE and Sony Network Entertainment International. Unlike SCE, Sony Interactive Entertainment is based in California, United States.
SIE operates the whole PlayStation brand with its regional branches and content management.
Operations
Sony Interactive Entertainment has two branches one of which focuses on software development, while the other is purely a game development one. Both of these branches consist of companies acquired by Sony at some point in time.
Owning over 40 game developers, SIE has no specific focus in genres. All the titles released are PlayStation exclusives. Every studio that is part of SIE is independent of other studios and are given creative freedom by the parent company. The most notable titles produced by SIE-owned studios include God of War, Resistance, Gran Turismo, and Uncharted.
