Nintendo is a Japanese-based video game and home console developer, as well as video game publisher.
History
The company was founded on September 23rd, 1889 and made playing cards at first. In 1963, the company began producing toys, such as The Ultra Hand. The creator of The Ultra Hand, Gunpei Yokoi, was also interested in electronic toys. In 1978 Nintendo's arcade division was created.
By 1980, Nintendo released Game & Watch portable game which was even copied by USSR. In 1983, the most renown home console, Nintendo Entertainment System, got released. Since then, the company assists other developers in bringing their titles to Nintendo-created systems and develop their own consoles such as the Nintendo Switch released in 2017.
Operations
Nintendo is mainly a family-friendly company. There is no violent imagery and blood present in its games as well as adult content.
Major Nintendo's franchises are Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., Pokemon, and Donkey Kong.
