LucasArts Entertainment was an electronic entertainment division of George Lucas' media empire. The company was acquired by Disney in 2013. The studio was defunct since then and its future projects got canceled. All the former employees of LucasArts Entertainment now work on Disney's game projects.
History
The studio was found in 1982 by George Lucas himself expressing his desire to create new forms of entertainment in multiple areas. At first, LucasArts Entertainment was a computer graphics department. Later the company got split in two with its graphics department becoming Pixar and all other employees forming a game development division.
Operations
LucasArts Entertainment created numerous IPs. Most of these titles were point-and-click quests lie Tales of Monkey Island series, Full Throttle, and Sam & Max. The studio also created multiple simulation games since its creation as well as RPGs like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in collaboration with BioWare. LucasArts Entertainment focused on the narrative part of its games.
