Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. is an American division of Konami Holdings Corporation. It is one of the most long-playing actors in the industry — being founded in 1969, the company has never stopped developing for almost half a decade. The studio is primarily known for many genre-forming titles and numerous breakthroughs in the industry. Castlevania series, for one, has developed its own genre Metroidvania with the first part taken from Metroid games. Silent Hill has set the mark for all the other third-person horror games, and Contra has formed a genre of run'n'guns with some of its mechanics implemented in the titles released long after its initial publicity. However, the most profound impressions of Konami are spawned by Metal Gear series designed by leading game designer Hideo Kojima who has later left the company and founded Kojima Corporations. However, not all the titles were at one revolutionary as the Pro Evolution Soccer series mostly mimics its competitor FIFA.
