Klei Entertainment is an independent Canadian-based video game development studio.
History
The company was founded by Jamie Cheng in 2005. Most of the studio's staff comes from THQ-owned Relic Entertainment. The company had 11 employees in 2009 with the number growing up to 35 in 2013.
It was decided by Cheng that the company will focus only on game development efforts with collaborations with other developers on interesting projects. He did not want the company to put its time into something its employees did not enjoy doing. Most of the titles developed by the company are self-published.
