Eidos Montréal is a Canadian video game developer based in Montreal, Quebec and a subsidiary of Square Enix. The company is most known for its installments in Deus Ex series. The studio’s debut project was Deus Ex: Human Revolution in 2011. It was the first game in the series since 2003 title Deus Ex: Invisible War. The game was well-received by critic and fans of the series. It was a financial success and spawned a spin-off Deus Ex: The Fall in 2013 and a full-fledged sequel Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in 2016. Unlike its predecessor, The Mankind Divided was a commercial disappointment despite its mostly positive reception and caused the series to be put on hold. Eidos Montréal has also been an additional developer for the Tomb Raider rebooted trilogy by Crystal Dynamics. It developed multiplayer for Tomb Raider (2013), supported Crystal Dynamics with Rise of the Tomb Raider and was a primary developer of the last entry in the trilogy – Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
