Daedalic Entertainment is a German-based independent video game publisher and developer.
History
The company was established in 2007 by Carsten Fichtelmann and Jan Müller-Michaelis. In the same year, the two released and published their first game, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, using Jan's coursework on non-linear narrative in video games.
In the year 2008, the game was chosen the quest of the year in Germany, resulting in the studio creating a game series. Since then, Daedalic Entertainment mainly focuses on game development and self-publishes its own games.
Operations
Daedalic Entertainment does not collaborate with other developers in either video game development or publishing. The studio develops its own games and publishes them through the digital distribution services like Steam all by themselves. Every single one of the titles developed by the studio is original work.
The most notable titles produced by the studio are Edna & Harvey game series, Deponia, Skyhill, The Franz Kafka Videogame, and The Long Journey Home.
