Crytek is a German video game studio founded in 1999. The developers also opened offices in Kiev and Istanbul in 2006 and 2012 respectively. The company has currently developed 11 titles, with most of them being divided into series: Far Cry and Crysis. The team's projects also feature successful standalone titles such as Ryse: Son of Rome — hack'n'slash adventure in the Roman Empire setting, and WarFace — free-to-play first-person shooter initially released for PC, nonetheless, later ported on all of the home consoles of the eighth generation. The company's games are generally praised for high graphics quality — it is provided by own CryEngine gaming engine featuring five iterations. Initially, the engine was distributed by the pay-what-you-want model; however, in the mid-2018 company changed its positioning for 5% revenue fee.
