Atlus U.S.A., Inc. is an American subsidiary of Japanese video game company Atlus. It was founded in 1991. Atlus USA localizes and publishes Japanese games to international markets; these are Demon's Souls, Guilty Gear, and Ogre Battle. In 2013, Atlus USA was acquired by Sega through Index Corporation. Despite the merging, Sega and Atlus continued to operate as separate entities. All the Atlus franchises remain under the brand. It is well-known for developing games in cooperation with other studios; for example, with GAE (My World, My Way), ACE Team (Rock of Ages), Suzak Inc. (Dokapon Journey). Most of their favorite games are RPGs, such as the Divinity series, action-adventures, such as Steambot Chronicles, and arcades, like Arcana Heart. The first game Atlus USA developed is an RPG Revelations: Persona for the PlayStation platform. The plot focuses on a group of students as they face a series of supernatural events.
