Activision Blizzard is an American-based video game publisher.
History
The company was established in 2008 as a result of a merger of Activision and Vivendi. By that time, Blizzard was the biggest asset of Vivendi, so the companies were merged into one under the name Activision Blizzard.
Although legally being one company, it functions as two as Activision has no publishing rights over Blizzard titles like World of Warcraft and Overwatch. The same goes for Blizzard, as it cannot publish Destiny and Call of Duty games.
The company consists of five division with an e-sport division, two game development studios, and two management companies.
Operations
As of 2018, Activision Blizzard focuses on games with Game-As-Service model with its World of Warcraft as well as yearly-released titles, such as Call of Duty.
Activision Blizzard is one of the biggest video game companies out there with ownership over Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, Destiny, Tony Hawk series, and Call of Duty.
